Welcome to FamiliesFORWARD!
We are devoted to helping children reach their full potential in school and out of school through our dynamic After-School Program. We have partnered with dozens of organizations to provide academic support, as well as music, arts and technology enrichments that allow students to explore their interests.
Our agency's roots date to 1875, and we have been operating after-school programming since the early 1990s. We invite you to explore our website to view some of our activities.
If you have any questions or would like to become involved, don’t hesitate to contact us.

Executive Director

I love the After-School Program. I get help with my homework, and it helps me make good grades. The FamiliesFORWARD After-School Program is a good and safe place to be after school. — Bond Hill Academy of Math and Science Discovery fourth-grader
Thank you for everything that you have done for my family and me. You have no idea how grateful I am. — A Carson School parent
Mrs. Jenkins and Mrs. Tonya (FamiliesFORWARD staff members) have helped every student they can. They let kids show their talent. They helped me learn new things. That's why I got accepted to Walnut Hills High School. Thank you. — Carson School sixth-grader
Our agency relies on volunteers to help fulfill its mission of assisting students and families at our four school sites. In addition to providing tutoring and helping with other activities, volunteers can join our staff members in completing specific projects at the schools. Visit our volunteer page for more details.
Have you ever considered tutoring? You'd be amazed by how little time it takes for an individual to make a difference in a child's life. Helping students learn to read or do math will provide them skills that last a lifetime! Click here to find out more.
Our academic and enrichment programs increase grade-level promotion, graduation rates, college enrollment and community involvement. Because students are more engaged, schools experience fewer bad-behavior incidents, less absenteeism and lower dropout rates.
FamiliesFORWARD and the Cincinnati Nature Center began working together in 2013 to provide students with an encounter with nature — and the partnership has bloomed into much more. Click for details
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Nature Center staff members went to our elementary schools to conduct outdoor learning experiences, including teaching about the cicada Brood X invasion. See a video here
