The Cincinnati Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity awarded four Withrow University High School graduating seniors with 2019 Fred Heisel Jr. Grant-in-Aid Awards during a banquet May 18, 2019, at the Holiday Inn-Cincinnati North.

The Withrow students were among 17 recipients in the region selected

by Kappa Alpha Psi alumni, who have awarded 158 scholarships since 2001. Each received a $1,000 scholarship. This year’s awardees from Withrow:

Applicants must be male, have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, have an acceptance letter from a university and complete an interview. Adrian Cunningham, chairman of the scholarship committee, and other Kappa Alpha Psi members interviewed the young men at New Jerusalem Baptist Church.

Each year, FamiliesFORWARDstaff members assist Withrow seniors in applying for the Kappa Alpha scholarships. Nine Withrow seniors applied and interviewed for the scholarship this year. Since 2012, the fraternity has provided 35 Withrow students with scholarships.
