Hays-Porter students get dental care, meet Bengals

An event at Paul Brown Stadium left some Hays-Porter School students with a reason to smile as they participated in some fun activities while learning how to take care of their teeth.

The students—in grades 2 through 6—saw volunteer dentists and hygienists who examined the children and provided them with oral-health literature, free toothbrushes and T-shirts on Nov. 8. It was all part of TeamSmile, a program sponsored by 3M.

Activities such as face painting, line dancing and watching the Bengals football team practice were provided while students waited to receive services, including learning best practices for oral hygiene. The students also met and received autographs from Bengals defensive ends Carlos Dunlap and Wallace Gilberry and wide receiver Marvin Jones, as well as Bengals mascot “Who Dey.”
